Law Library
The Washington County Law Library serves the legal research needs of the bench, bar, and public of Washington County. The library is open to the public for research; borrowing is provided for members of the Washington County Bar Association. Law Library staff cannot give legal advice but will attempt to help patrons find books or other materials relating to the subject of their search.
Resources Available at the Library
Using hard copy and internet-based resources, the library makes accessible:
- Agency regulations from all states and federal government
- Annotated statutes from all states and the federal government
- Appellate court opinions from all states
- Court rules from all state and federal courts and from Pennsylvania common pleas courts
- Law reviews and legal newspapers
- Legal digests, treatises, encyclopedias and practice manuals
- Opinions from all federal district and appellate courts
- Ordinances from many Washington County municipalities
- Sample legal forms
- A small collection of legal books written for the layman
- Trial-level opinions from many Pennsylvania courts
