Judge Lucas presides over Criminal Court and Juvenile Dependency Court.

Motions Court is held on Monday at 1:15 p.m. and Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom Number 5 for all cases assigned to Judge Lucas, to include Civil and Family Court cases specially assigned to him.

When serving as Civil Judge of the Term, Judge Lucas hears unassigned General Civil Motions at 9:15 a.m. Monday through Friday.

When serving as Criminal Judge of the Term, Judge Lucas hears general unassigned criminal motions at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

For Emergency Motions to include search warrant applications and shelter care petitions, the moving party shall contact Chambers prior to appearing for presentation.

For Uncontested Motions that include evidence of written consent and Scheduling Motions to include omnibus hearings, pre-trial limine proceedings, plea dates, and pre-trial conferences, such motions may be submitted in writing to Chambers so long as such motions include an appropriate certificate of service. If the date assigned by the Court is not acceptable to a party, in court presentation of a motion to reschedule is required. Parties are strongly encouraged to confer with each other prior to the presentation of a written scheduling motion.

A copy of any motion to be presented in court shall be forwarded to and received by the Judge’s Chambers by 12:00 p.m. the business day prior to scheduled presentation.
